Selwyn District Council: Aquatics Strategy
Selwyn District Council has recently invested in the expansion of the Selwyn Aquatics Centre as the main facility within the District supported by a number of local outdoor / seasonal pools. Through an Area Planning Analysis, GLG and ActiveXchange have analysed current utilisation and projected future facility use. This identified significant overlapping of catchment areas, an over-supply of pools compared to demand and a highly mobile population prepared to travel to access higher quality facilities. The use of available participation data and detailed analytics provided a step change in the way that current and future needs were analysed to inform future decisions on facility locations and provision priorities.
