Hilary is a Usability (UX) professional with 25yrs experience in the Information & Technology Industry working in the government and corporate sectors. Her focus areas have been in web development, eLearning and human-centred design for digital products with a wide range of software development roles based in the USA, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
In addition, she has founded a company that provides innovative fitness classes in the Tasman region for groups with specialised needs in the 50yrs+ sector including at her own exercise and therapeutic boxing gym.
Since specialising in UX, Hilary has worked with sport, leisure and recreational organisations in NZ and abroad.

David’s strengths are in strategic planning, needs assessment, sport recreation and community hub development.

David has nearly 40 years experience in the leisure industry and over 25 years as a consultant sport and recreation planner, He is Managing Director of Global Leisure Group Limited. David has exceptional knowledge of leisure industry trends and provision across New Zealand. Since establishing GLG in 1999, David has completed over 220 planning projects in New Zealand. Previously, David held key roles with the Hillary Commission (Funding Manager & Kiwisport Manager), the Minister of Recreation and Sport (Private Secretary) and Tasman Regional Sports Trust (CEO).

GLG’s expert on hub formation, governance modelling, sports partnership modelling, community recreation management.

Peter joined GLG in 2015 and has over 35 years’ experience in New Zealand’s sport and recreation sector, Peter possesses a laser-like ability for identifying challenges and issues, and articulating solutions. Peter is chair of the successful Eastern Community Sport & Recreation hub in New Brighton Christchurch.

He is passionate about building knowledge in the sector, and established the Diploma in Applied Recreation, CircoArts, and the Graduate Diploma in Event Management whilst teaching at CPIT (now ARA) in Christchurch

Matt Hollyer

Queenstown
Matt joined the GLG team in 2021 and is based in Queenstown. He has over 20 years of experience in recreation tourism management with high profile companies such as AJ Hackett and Shotover Canyon Swing.

Currently he is involved in managing a range of new community, collaborative conservation projects.

Matt has a Masters of Entrepreneurship plus B. Commerce and B. Physical Education. He has governance experience as a Director and Chair of Destination Queenstown.

He was a member of the MBIE/ TIA taskforce writing the Activity Specific Guidelines for Swings, Ziplines and High Ropes Courses. He was the catalyst for and is project lead of the Queenstown Shared Sport Clubrooms Project. He holds club leadership and coaching roles with Queenstown Cricket Club.

GLG’s expert on sport business and financial modelling, facility demand and utilisation modelling, and sport, recreation and open space planning and feasibility.

Richard joined GLG as a Director in 2015. His experience in the sport and recreation sector spans over 25 years and two countries, as he has worked with multiple sporting codes both in the UK and in New Zealand. With over 25 years as a planning consultant he has completed well over 150 planning projects, giving him an extensive knowledge of needs based facility and business planning, development, and operation.

Ross has over 25 years of experience in sport administration and the past decade in Hub development. He was the catalyst, project lead and now chair of the successful Toitu Poneke Community & Sports Centre Inc. at Kilbirnie Park in Wellington.

With a key involvement and passion for Rugby including club leadership roles at Poneke Rugby Club, he is currently deputy chair of the Wellington Rugby Football Union and a board member of the Hurricanes.

Former owner of Williment Sports Travel, he currently owns and operates BCD Travel in Wellington. He holds an accounting degree and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
